NYTEX SCHEDULE: Jan 29, Feb 5, Feb 12, & Feb 15

The Dallas Stars 4-8 Rookies program is a free program for kids ages 4-8 who are interested in playing the game of hockey. Starting with week #1 as the fitting session, each day during the program, kids are provided with all equipment necessary for a fun and safe experience. Trained coaches will help your child begin their path toward a cool and exciting new activity.

After the fitting, all participants will receive 30 minutes of instruction each week for four weeks, all necessary equipment and a free Dallas Stars Rookies jersey to take home!

Equipment issue Time:                  

*First week – we will have an Equipment Fitting. Arrive within that time frame and we will fit you with a full set of hockey gear.

On-Ice Time:

Instructors will be there to usher you on the ice; 30 minutes each session.

**Please note that this program is for first-time skaters/players only. Enrollments will be audited and anyone not qualifying will be removed from the program.**

 

OVERVIEW

This is a basic class to get young players in hockey gear and get them on the ice experiencing hockey, in most cases, for the first time. Gear is check out and you will keep the gear until the final session. At that time you can turn in the gear, or purchase it for a low fee. Upon graduation you will receive information on our “next step” programs to keep you kids progressing towards league play.

Full set of gear, a hockey jerseys, and a stick will be provided for each player.  What you will need is for your players to come with sweat pants and a long sleeved shirt.  Water bottles are not needed as they are only on the ice for 30 minutes.

We will have instructors on the ice from our skate school and our hockey programs. If you as a parent have a hockey background and would like to assist on the ice, please email us ASAP as we would love to have the extra help on the ice.

Expectations are to have fun.  We have a wide range of participation on the ice.  Some kiddos start out motoring around right away, others it is a process of learning to stand on the ice and move about.  All are welcome and can have a ton of fun with it with this program.
